Discussed the required number of shelter-in-place drills and how they are not to be a substitute for the required monthly evacuation drill.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. Staff to child ratio was in compliance. Physical space, child records, emergency evacuation drills, emergency supplies and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site. Children were observed building with legos, coloring and engaging with the staff. The center is currently focused on a 70's theme. The children were also observed washing hands prior to snack which consisted of bagels, cream cheese and apple juice. The center was clean and organized with an abundance of developmentally appropriate supplies. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact me at email@example.com.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based on review of records, the center did not implement a monthly practice evacuation drill. Evidence: For the month of October the center conducted a shelter-in-place drill but no evacuation drill. Plan of Correction: Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.
