Discussed with center administration: child interactions, parent communication and infant/toddler transitions.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. Observed 51 children directly supervised by 9 staff members. A sample of 4 children's records and 3 staff records were reviewed. The physical plant, staffing, emergencies supplies and procedures, and required posted documents were also reviewed. The children were engaged in various activities, to include: infant feeding and nap time, diaper changing procedures, family style lunch with the teachers engaging with the children in conversation and story time while preparing for nap. Areas of non compliance are identified in this report. The exit interview was conducted with the Director. Inspection conducted 10:15 am- 12:00 pm. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based upon observation, equipment was found to in need of repair. Evidence: In the toddler classroom a vinyl duck was found with tears in the material and the sensory table has a sharp edge that needs repair. Plan of Correction: Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-290-3 Description: Based upon observation, multiple electrical outlets were missing protective covers. Evidence: 1 outlet in the infant room, 1 outlet in the pre-k room and 2 outlets in the 3's classroom were missing protective covers. Plan of Correction: All covers were replace during the inspection. Director will remind staff to check in the morning after the cleaning crew cleans at night.
