Technical Assistance:
Discussed Subsidy and requirements. Discussed Health Department application. Supervision with bathroom transition was discussed.

Comments:
An unannounced inspection was conducted today. The program had 42 children present today with staff and activities were observed. Hand washing, diaper changes, and supervision were all observed. The Inspector reviewed medication, daily reports, and attendance. Special Care Standards were also reviewed. Please call with questions 703-479-4679

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A
Description: Based on observation, the following areas are not maintained: outside has a broken swing and the infant room's play area frame is has signs of chipping paint.

Plan of Correction: We have a work order in for the swing and we will repaint again.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-A
Description: Based on record review, the center has medication to administer for 4 children but 3 are without a written physician authorization. Child #2 and #3 are under 6 years of age, has over the counter cough medication, and the medication label states under 6 years "do not use". Child #1 has prescription medication that has been administered for over 2 months but the center does not have physician's long term authorization.

Plan of Correction: The parent of Children 2 and 3 was called during the inspection and we requested physician authorization. We will not administer until we get written okay. We will call the parents for child 1 and request a fax for medication.
