Technical Assistance:
Discussion was held on the topics of current enrollment and current staffing.

Comments:
The following inspection took place between the hours of 12 pm (noon) through 2 pm. Today, I met with the Staff of the Goddard School located in Ashburn, Virginia. At the start of this unannounced monitoring inspection there were a total of 106 children with 16 classroom staff; good ratios in all 9 rooms. A total of 4 children?s files and 5 new staff files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: infant feeding, infant sleeping, lunch, diaper changing, hand washing, bathroom breaks, story time, music, making ginger bread houses, holiday theme activities, art, centers in the room, nap time, and other organized activities. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A
Description: Based on observation, some equipment of the center, inside and outside, were not maintained in a safe condition. Evidence - On the date of inspection (12/13/2016), the following pieces of equipment were viewed to be in an unsafe condition: 1. Within the Older-Infant room, a trapezoid shape long mat had frayed corners. The right corner was ripped exposing the padding underneath. 2. Within the Pre-Todd room, a back window of the classroom had a blind cord that has broken and now hangs away from its safety latch. 3. Within the Get-Set room, a small blue mat couch show signs of wear; show corners that are fraying.

Plan of Correction: All items shall either be repaired or removed from the class.
