Technical Assistance:
An exit interview was conducted with the director to discuss the results of today's inspection. Consultation was given regarding the Virginia Preservice Training.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today, December 13, 2016 to determine the center's compliance with licensing standards. Upon arrival, the following ratios were observed: Infant room: 2 staff/ 5 children Toddler room #1: 1 staff/ 5 children Toddler room#2: 1staff/ 5 children Two year old room #1: 1 staff/ 7 children Two year old room #2: 1 staff/8 children Three year old room: 1 staff/10 children Four year old room: 1 staff/ 8 children Children were observed eating snack, participating in arts & crafts, listening to a short story, and participating in free play. Children Today's snack consisted of Chex mix and 100% juice. books, toys, and equipment were inspected and found to be age appropriate and in operable condition. All classrooms were inspected to include main hallways and children?s restrooms. The outdoor playground was inspected with the required resilient surfacing present and no hazards found. The center had the following posted: license, daily schedule, emergency numbers, evacuation maps, food menu, previous inspection, and various parent information. These postings are located upon entering the center and in children classrooms. The center's first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected with additional supplies found. Annual health and fire inspections were reviewed and found to be updated. Five children and two staff records were inspected with the required information found. The following was also inspected: medication & authorizations, illness policy, parent agreements, and other pertinent information.
