A renewal study was conducted today beginning at 9:40am. There were 8 children with 5 adults providing direct supervision. The physical space, first aid kit, evacuation drills, staff records and children's records were reviewed. There were no medications on site. The children were observed interacting with the caregivers, working on art projects at the table and engaging in free play. The site was clean and organized with an abundance of developmentally appropriate toys and supplies. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-540-C Description: Based on review of the first aid kit, the center did not have a working digital thermometer included. Evidence: No digital thermometer could be located. Plan of Correction: One will be bought and provided today.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-G Description: Based on observation, food containers were not clearly dated and labeled in a way that identifies the owner Evidence: 4 containers in the refrigerator only contained the names of the students but not the date. A bag on the counter was not labeled with names or dates. Plan of Correction: Staff and parents will be reminded to label and date snacks.
