A supplemental page was provided. Technical assistance was provided concerning warm water in the sinks located in rest rooms and in diapering areas.
Thank you for your time and assistance with the unannounced monitoring inspection conducted on January 6, 2017. The on-site inspection was from 11:05 a.m. to 2:50 p.m. On this date, there were 84 children present and in the care of 12 staff members. There were three additional staff members available to assist if needed. There were 126 children enrolled in the center. The exception to compliance was noted on the violation notice and the risk rating for the violation documented on the supplemental page. There were four staff members' records and five children's records reviewed, and eight classrooms were observed. There were ten staff members and four children interviewed. The medication and medication paperwork were reviewed for two children. Lunch was observed to meet USDA guidelines and consisted of turkey stir-fry, brown rice, mixed veggies, mixed fruit, and milk. Some of items reviewed and observed during the visit included: required posted information, first aid kit, documentation of evacuation drills, diaper ointments and parent authorizations, choice time, infant feeding and care, diapering procedures, hand washing procedures, bathroom procedures, lunch, and nap time. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-260-A Description: Based on review of documentation and verification from the director, the center failed to obtain a fire inspection from the local fire marshal within a year of the previous inspection. Evidence: 1. The date of the most recent fire inspection was October 16, 2015. 2. The director confirmed the fire marshal had not been back to conduct a complete inspection since October of 2015. Plan of Correction: "I had a appointment for them to come to our center on Friday 1/6/2017 at 11:00am but they did not show. We called and rescheduled for Tues 1/10/2017 at 10:30 am. We will make a reminder for us to call and make next year?s apt, well in advance to account for any cancellations."
