Discussed maintaining resilient surfacing around fall zones. Discussed storage of cleaning supplies.
An unannounced afternoon inspection was conducted today. The Program has 55 children enrolled and has incorporated use of the upstairs. The children were observed waking up, cleaning up, and preparing for snack. The staff were engaged with the children and supervision was observed. Medication procedures, staff files, and special care standards were also checked and the physical plant had a variety of age/stage equipment available for the children. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-B Description: Based on observation of a staff member performing diaper changes, the staff is not following all procedures. Staff did not spray the table and after removing gloves, did not wash hands. Plan of Correction: We will retrain the staff as the spray is available and they know the proper procedures.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-E Description: Upon observation of a child's prescription medication, the facility has not maintained the prescription label with the medication. Plan of Correction: Because the meds are expiring this month. we will request parents to bring medication in the original package.
