Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation on the kiddie playground, it was determined that the playground equipment was not maintained in a safe condition. Evidence: The hand grips on the rocker was protruding and presented an impalement hazard. Plan of Correction: We will remove the rocker from the playground.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-330-B Description: Based on an inspection of the two playgrounds it was determined that there was insufficient resilient surfacing and inadequate fall zones. Evidence: On the big playground, the swing set required a back fall zone of 13 feet 9 inches but had a 9 feet 9 inch fall zone as the wooden border was in the fall zone of the swings. The metal slide was within 4 feet of the wooden border and not the required 6 feet. The mulch on the big and kiddie playgrounds measured 1 to 2 inches of depth under and around the slides, swings and merry go round and not the required 6 inches. Plan of Correction: We will place all of this equipment off limits until brought into full compliance
A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.
