Discussed TB requirements for staff.
Today an unannounced Renewal Inspection was conducted with the Director . This visit took place in the morning between 11:15am and 1:45pm . There were 5 classrooms were in operation and all 5 were observed with a total of 40 children with 11 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were finishing lunch which consisted of turkey sausages, pancakes and fresh fruit, transitioning to nap time. Seasonal artwork observed throughout the center. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, medication and observation of hand washing after lunch were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation of physical plant, hazardous substances were found accessible to children. Evidence: Air fresheners were found in hall staff bathroom, this bathroom is accessible to children. Cleaning agents found in utility closet in main hallway which was unlocked and accessible to children. Plan of Correction: Air freshener immediately removed. Closet was immediately secured.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-290-3 Description: Based on observation of physical plant, electrical outlets were found without protective covers. Evidence: An electrical strip in the Pre K room did not have protective covers. Plan of Correction: Center staff placed protective covers on the electrical strip immediately.
