An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today, 2/7/17. The violations from the previous inspection have been corrected. There is one repeat violation cited. Upon arrival to the center the children arriving to the program washed hands and then had snack. Following snack hands were washed and the children went outside to the playground until it started raining. The children then came inside to play in the gym and then worked on homework. There are 33 children in care with three staff ranging in age from 5-12 years. Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to call. Inspection began 2:50 pm and ended 4:50 pm approximately.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-330-B Description: Based on observation during the unannounced renewal inspection on 2/7/17 the center failed to have adequate resilient surfacing under the swings. Evidence: 1. The swings used by the children in the after school program did not have resilient surfacing. Plan of Correction: The program director will talk with the maintenance personnel and ask that the surfacing be moved under the swings and more added to this area.
Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-D-1-C Description: Based on review of records the center failed to have repeat background checks on staff. Evidence: 1. Staff # 4 has a central registry check that expired 6/18/15 and a criminal history record check that expired 10/16/09. Plan of Correction: The central registry check has been sent off for and the criminal history record check will be conducted today.
