An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from approximately 10:40am-12:30pm. There were 14 children (infants-5yrs.) directly supervised by 4 staff. The physical plant, 3 staff records, 4 children?s records, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, reading books, playing indoors participating in movement matters. Diapering and hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid, as well as DHO training. Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on review of a sample of children's records all required information was not maintained. Evidence: During inspection Child # 3 was missing: Full address for 1 of 2 emergency contacts. Child # 4 was missing the address for 1 of 2 emergency contacts and plan of action for allergy listed. Plan of Correction: I will contact parents. Child #4 has a restricted diet I will have mom up date record.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-570-E Description: Based on inspection of Child Day Center all bottles for children in care were not labeled correctly. Evidence: 1 of 4 children in infant room did not have the date labeled on prepared bottle. Plan of Correction: During inspection Teacher corrected and Director instructed her to remind parents at drop off in the morning or date bottles personally.
