Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted with the assistant director beginning at 12:50 PM and ending at 4:00 PM. There were sixty children in care ages ranging between four months and five years old. One infant was observed being feed baby food in a high chair. The children were observed sleeping or resting on their cots. Children were also observed playing freeze dance, coloring, and playing with building blocks. Five children's records and four staff records were reviewed and in compliance. Two medications were reviewed and in compliance. The emergency escape drill log was reviewed and in compliance. The first aid kit, flashlight, and weather-band radio were observed and in compliance. The most recent emergency escape drill was conducted February 15, 2017. The most recent fire inspection was documented as August 2, 2016. The most recent health inspection was documented as February 8, 2017. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-450-A
Description: Based on observation not all of the cots used by children during the designated rest period had lines consisting of a top cover and a bottom cover or a one-piece covering which is open on three edges. Evidence: There were two children in the pre-k classroom that did not have bottom covers on their cots during the resting period.

Plan of Correction: The center will remind parents to bring and/or return sheets for their children during nap time. The center will also purchase additional sheets to keep in the classroom.
