63.2 Child Abuse and Neglect

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today, 2/22/17. Violation from the previous inspection have been corrected. A violation notice was completed regarding the violations found during today's inspection. The children were painting, playing in the playroom, going for walks and being strolled around. Lunch, diapering and had washing were also observed. Three children's files, and one staff file were reviewed for compliance. Inspection began: 10:10 am and ended 11:45 am.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A
Description: Based on observation during the inspection the center failed to keep an area of the center in a safe condition. Evidence: 1. Located in the toddler room a face plate was broken with sharp edges. This is accessible to the children.

Plan of Correction: The face plate will be replaced.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B
Description: Based on observation during the monitoring inspection the center failed to keep hazardous substances locked. Evidence: 1. In the two year old classroom the cabinet containing Clorox, bathroom cleaner, glass cleaner, and air freshener spray was not locked.

Plan of Correction: This was corrected during the inspection.
