Comments:
Today an unannounced monitoring visit was conducted with the Principal. This visit took place in the morning between 9:30-12 there 5 classrooms with a total of 69 students w/12 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed having morning circle time, free play, outdoor walk, story-time, practicing writing the letters, lunch and nap. Lunch today consisted of beef stew,spinach, oranges and milk. Positive interactions were observed during this inspection. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-400-B
Description: Based on observation of the outdoor play, a staff member failed to provide behavior guidance that was age, and stage appropriate. Evidence: In the toddler classroom, a staff member was observed attempting to pick up a child to redirect to an appropriate behavior however it was not age and stage appropriate.

Plan of Correction: Center Principal stated that this team member will recieve written counsel and additional training on the appropriate way to redirect and handling.
