63.2 Facilities and Programs..

Technical Assistance:
Discussed the electrical cord in the Blue room. Also discussed sink and diaper changing area in the two infant spaces.

Comments:
An unannounced inspection was conducted from 10:12AM - 1230 PM. The Inspector observed all rooms and observed two class activities. The center has a new STEM program through Wolf Trap that the Inspector was able to observe in two groups. The Inspector also observed medication, records, evacuation drills, and children's records. Daily records and attendance were also reviewed. Please call with questions 703-479-4679

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A
Description: Based on observation, there are areas in the building in which walls and some door frames are showing signs of needed repairs and or/chipping paint.

Plan of Correction: We will notify head of maintenance.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-A
Description: Based on observation in the Center, hand washing was not observed with staff or children in two classrooms. Evidence: 1. Inspector sat and observed the children in the Green room. During that time, one staff member was changing diapers and she observed three diaper changes. These occurred without children having hands washed with soap and running water after diaper changed. 2. The Inspector also observed a staff member, in the blue room, help two children with toileting and the staff member did not wash his hands between children.

Plan of Correction: We will retrain all staff.
