Current Inspector: Victoria E Dawson (540) 309-2674

Inspection Date: March 23, 2017

Complaint Related: No

Areas Reviewed:

An unannounced "focused" inspection was completed on 3/23/17 as a follow-up to the Intensive Plan of Correction (IPOC) that was submitted to the Division of Licensing Programs on 3/13/17. The IPOC was submitted as required to address systemic and repeat violations in the areas of operational responsibilities, program director qualifications, approval from other agencies, procedures for emergencies, and nutrition and food services. All of the areas addressed on the IPOC were observed. The inspector arrived at the school at 3:45 pm and departed at 4:45 pm. There was discussion with the site director and other staff about the public school's fire inspection (contact made to the fire marshal by the inspector).

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-260-A
Description: Based on interviews with staff, the center failed to ensure that there was an annual fire inspection report available. Evidence: 1. The staff have asked the public school personnel on several occasions for the most recent fire inspection report which can not be located.

Plan of Correction: The YMCA child care director will follow up with the fire marshal's office to have an inspection done if it has been more than a year since the last inspection.

A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.

The online compliance history includes only information after July 1, 2003. In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.

Virginia Quality is a voluntary quality rating and improvement system for early care and education facilities serving children ages birth through pre-K.
