The licensing inspectors conducted an announced non-mandated modification inspection for the second floor level at the center on Monday, March 27, 2017 from approximately 12:00 pm until 1:51pm. During this inspection, the licensing inspectors reviewed required documents and completed measurements of designated areas on second level to determine the increase in capacity. The licensing inspector also inspected the classroom area, bathroom, game room, and kitchen area on the second floor level. The classroom was equipped with age appropriate toys and materials. The required postings were inspected and deemed in compliance with licensing standards. The first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected as well. There was also a request to change population to include infants in care at the center. Therefore, the licensing inspectors inspected designated area and supplies on first floor for infant care. Based on the configurations obtained by the licensing inspector during this inspection the center would be issued a modification of the license to promote quality services and appropriate care for the children served.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation of the areas on the second floor level at the center, the center did not ensure all areas and equipment were maintained in a safe condition. Evidence: 1. During this inspection, the game room (Room 2) was observed by the licensing inspectors with peeling paint on both of the window sills. 2. There was peeling paint observed on the baseboards located in the hallway area on the second floor level. Plan of Correction: Per the Director: I will contact landlord today to repaint or sand surface for repairs.
