Discussed: Shade will be needed for the Infant/Toddler Playground for June, July and August. Also discussed adding alarms to the classrooms doors that open directly to the outside.
An Initial Licensing Inspection was conducted on this date with the owner/director from 9:05 - 11:15. The one building will be used for childcare was inspected. There are three classrooms for ages Infant through school age. There are two playgrounds that can be used for the children. One for infants/toddlers and the other for Preschool and school age children. Emergency procures are in place as are required policies and procedure. No children are currently enrolled and staff will be hired as needed. Health and Fire Inspections are up to date. Current staff have First Aid, CPR and one has Medication Administration Training (MAT). Background checks are current for the staff who will be at the Center to begin. Meals and snacks will be provided by the children's families. No food will be prepared on site. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-A Description: Based on interview with the owner, it was determined that one staff person has a TB test that has expired. Evidence: Staff 2 has a TB test that has expired. It is over two years old. Plan of Correction: Staff person will get her TB test this week.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation, it was determined that there are screws protruding around the gate on the Infant/Toddler Playground. Evidence: There are 21 screws on the fence and gate to the playground that are protruding more than 2 screw lengths. Plan of Correction: The Maintance person will trim the screws to within 2 thread lengths.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-C Description: Based on interview and observation it was determined that emergency evacuation maps and plans are not posted in each classroom. Plan of Correction: They will be posted prior to opening.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-F Description: Based on observation, it was determined that 911/Poison Control numbers are not posted in each classroom. Plan of Correction: The numbers will be placed by each phone, prior to opening.
