- Technical Assistance:
Two emergency medication were sent home due to the manufacturer recall. Please have parents complete new authorizations when the medication is returned. Follow up on background checks if the forms are not returned within 30 days should be documented so the staff member can continue to work while the checks are being processed. If the forms are returned due to an error document when it was resent to the search agency.
An unannounced monitoring visit was conducted from 10:00-12:15. All rooms were in ratio with direct care staff. Observed diapering, reading with children, free play, art projects that continued the butterfly life cycle theme, work on literacy and letter recognition, circle time, transition to the outside play ground area, infant care, babies sleeping and transition to lunch. Lunch served today was turkey tacos with cheese, corn and fruit. Bottles for infants were labeled and dated. Emergency preparation for drills is current. Rooms are well supplied, have artwork displayed and engaging for children in care. Emergency medication is on-site with several staff trained in Medication Administration Training (MAT) certification. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-A Description: Based on staff record review, a staff member did not have TB documentation on-site within the required time frame. Evidence: Staff #1 was hired 1/2017 and no current TB documentation was on file within 21 days of employment. Plan of Correction: TB test documentation to be acquired. Copy forwarded to VDSS 4/13/2017
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-B Description: Based on observation, the diaper pad in three classrooms were no longer non-absorbent. Evidence: Diaper pads in the two's, infant 1 and infant 2 had small slits or tears which makes them no longer non-absorbent as the padding is visible. Plan of Correction: Replaced on 4/7/2017
