An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on April 20th 2017 between 12:00pm and 2:00pm. There were 20 children in the direct care of 5 staff members. Children were observed preparing for nap, eating lunch, and watching a video. The center has plenty of materials, books, and games for children to utilize. A sampling of staffing records, children's records, the fire inspection, the evacuation drills, the physical space, supervision, first aid kit, and medications were observed and inspected. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-C Description: Based on record review, 1 of 3 staffing records reviewed did not have documentation of repeat tuberculosis screenings or test results every two years from the date of the first screening. Evidence: Staff #3 last had a tuberculosis screening or test on March 18th 2015. Plan of Correction: Staff has been spoken to, and he is taking care of it this week.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-L Description: Based on medication record, the center did not maintain documentation of medication given to children. Evidence: Medication documentation for April 2017 for a medication given daily was unable to be located. Previous dates were completed appropriately. Plan of Correction: I will have someone else double check the files to verify completion.
