An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today with the director, who was present with three additional staff and 47 children. The children were eating snack ( butter crunch cookies and low-fat chocolate milk) afterward, they washed their hands, did a little group physical activity and then transitioned to homework time. After homework time the children will divide into two groups, one group with go to the computer lab while the other group with participate in zones. Nine children had medications on site, four staff and six children's files were reviewed and determined to be in compliance. The Licensing Inspector observed positive redirection of the children and interaction. Fire inspection: 2/3/17 Health inspection: 1/19/17 Arrival time: 4pm Departure time: 5: 20 pm
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-C Description: Based on a review of medication and an interview with the director, it was determined that an emergency medication for one child had expired. Evidence: For child A the Epipen Jr. ( twin pack) had an expiration date of 11/16 for one and 12/16 for the other Epipen. Plan of Correction: I will obtain an up-to-date Epipen for this child.
