An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from approximately 2:15 to 3:30pm. Ratios for all the groups were found in compliance. The older children were engaged in montessori activities, and the younger children were resting. Medication procedures were reviewed, and staff with current MAT, first aid and CPR training were on site. One staff person has been hired since the last inspection. Her record was reviewed today and found in order. Resilient surfacing has been added to the outside play area. If you have any questions, I can be reached at 703 -479-4709.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation, some areas of the center and equipment were not maintained in a safe and operable condition. Findings: At the time of the inspection, the inspector found the following: 1. A broken tricycle on the playground. 2. Some of the material under the rubberized mulch on the playground was loose and coming up through the mulch creating a tripping hazard. Plan of Correction: 1. The tricycle was discarded at the time of the inspection. 2. The surfacing on the playground will be repaired.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-A Description: Based on document review, it was found that there was no written parental or physician authorization to administer a medication to a child in case of an allergic reaction. Plan of Correction: Will obtain written parental and physician authorization to administer the medication.
