63.2 Licensure and Registration Procedures

Comments:
An unannounced inspection was conducted to review issues of a self reported incident regarding behavior guidance. There were no violations cited in that area of standards based on evidence obtained from interviews and review of documentation. A violation was cited in the area of background clearances.

Violations:
Standard #: 63.2-1720-F
Description: Based on a review of 1 staff record, the center permitted an employee to work in a position that involved direct contact with a child/children receiving services before an original criminal record clearance or original criminal history record had been received, and the employee was not working under the direct supervision of another employee for whom a background check had been completed .

Plan of Correction: The clearance was on file within 30 days. Staff will not be permitted to be alone with children until criminal record clearances are on file.
