An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10 - 12:15 pm. There were 98 children present in classrooms. All rooms were within ratio. I observed children on the playground, eating snack, playing with toys, singing, listening to a story and preparation for lunch. If you have any questions, please contact me at email@example.com
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Some areas and equipment in the center were observed to not be maintained in a clean, safe and/or operable condition. Evidence: Outdoors: The edging of a platform of a slide was beginning to come off. A wooden barrier/seat in the wooded play area had a sharp edge and was splintery. Indoors: The sink in one classroom was very dirty (attached to a diaper table.) Plan of Correction: We will bring the slide and wood seat to the attention of maintenance. The sink is not being used but it will be cleaned.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-J Description: During today's inspection, a medication was observed to be accessible in an unlocked area while a child was present. Evidence: A bottle of adult Tylenol was clearly observed to be stored in a basket under the administrator's desk while a child was present, sitting on the floor in the office during the inspection. Plan of Correction: Removed immediately. It was part of teacher appreciation day week and should not have been in an unlocked location.
