Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 8:20am-10:15am. There were 60 children (3yrs.-5yrs.) directly supervised by 12 staff. Children were observed during arrival, playing outside, creating artwork, studying dinosaurs and sea life, learning about community service at different stations, and during transitions. The physical plant, 4 staff records, 4 child records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Hand washing procedures were also observed. There was an abundant supply of developmentally appropriate materials for the children. The center was clean and organized as they were preparing for the end of the school year. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Megan Smith at megan.smith@dss.virginia.gov.
