Comments:
Today an unannounced monitoring visit was conducted with Center Director. This visit took place in the morning between 11:00am-1:30 there were 5 classrooms observed with a total of 8 children with 14 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed having morning circle time, learning the months, outdoor free play, lunch and nap time. Lunch consisted of turkey corn dog nuggets, salad, oranges and milk. Positive interaction were observed during this inspection. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, menu and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-70-A
Description: Based on review of of staff records, the emergency contact did not have the address for one staff. Evidence: Staff #1 hired 12/19/2016 did not have the address listed for the emergency contact in the record.

Plan of Correction: Will obtain the emergency contact for this employee.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-H
Description: Based on observation of the physical plant, a purse was found accessible to children. Evidence: In one classroom, a purse was found in a unlocked storage closet accessible to children.

Plan of Correction: Director removed the purse during this inspection and will discuss staff.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-290-3
Description: Based on observation of the physical plant, a electrical outlet was found missing protective covers. Evidence: In the whoville classroom, the surge protectors were found missing protectors.

Plan of Correction: Director will fix this today.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D
Description: Based on review of the shelter-n-place drills, the center did not have documentation of 2 shelter in place drills per year. Evidence: no documentation of a shelter in place drill since 2/24/2016.

Plan of Correction: Director stated that she will have a drill conducted tomorrow.
