An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted with the director beginning at 9:58 AM and ending at 12:30 PM. There were one hundred thirteen children, ages thirteen months through four years old, present during the inspection. The preschool children were observed playing educational games on computers, working in small groups on numbers and sight words, and playing with manipulatives. The toddlers were observed playing outside, listening to stories, and playing with manipulatives. The toddlers and older infants were observed eating lunch which consisted of turkey wraps or pieces, peas, carrots, mandarin orange slices, and milk. Six children?s records and four staff records were reviewed and determined to be in compliance. Six medications were reviewed and in compliance. The flashlight, weather-band radio, and first aid kit were observed and in compliance. The most recent fire inspection was documented as 11/17/2016. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation not all outside equipment was maintained in a safe condition. Evidence: On the school age children's playground there was a wheelbarrow with standing water, dirt, and wood pieces accessible to children. Plan of Correction: The wheelbarrow was emptied during the inspection.
