- Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance included fall zones, craft materials and sweeping mulch.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. There were 31 children present and all classes were within ratio. School-agers arrive later. Today was "Graduation Practice Day" for the older class, and children proudly paraded and sang. I also observed younger children soothed to sleep to quiet music. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: During today's inspection, some areas in the center were observed not to be maintained in clean/safe/operable condition as re required. Evidence: Outdoors: There were many areas where the siding of the building had sharp broken edging near the tricycles. The coating of the stair edge to the slide was beginning to peel off. Indoors: There was a significant build-up frost on the infant room refrigerator. The ceiling in the Pre-K room appeared to have some damage. Plan of Correction: We will contact maintenance about this.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-520-B Description: During today's inspection, two bottles of sunscreen were observed to not be inaccessible to children as required. Evidence: While sunscreen does not need to be locked, it was observed to be accessible on a shelf in the lobby of the school. Plan of Correction: Removed during inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-M Description: Based on a review of the written record of injuries, some documentation did not include all required information. Evidence: Of four recent incident reports, three had the time of /and method of/ parent notification not recorded has required. Plan of Correction: We will retrain the teachers.
