An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted with the director beginning at 7:50 AM and ending at 9:37 AM. There were thirty-three children in care during the inspection. The children?s ages ranged between sixteen months and eleven years old. The toddler and two year old children were observed during free play. The preschool children were observed drawing. The school aged children were observed playing outside on the playground. Five children?s and three staff records were reviewed an in compliance. Three medications were reviewed and in compliance. The first aid kit, weather-band radio, and flashlight were observed and in compliance. The most recent emergency escape drills were reviewed and in compliance. The most recent fire inspection was documented as 12/16/2016. The most recent health inspection was documented as 01/24/2017. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-80-A Description: Based on review of the attendance record, the facility did not ensure all children were included on the written attendance record. Evidence: There were two children present in the toddler classroom but none marked present on the attendance sheet. Plan of Correction: The staff will document the arrival and departure of a children as it occurs.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-570-E Description: Based on observation not all of the refrigerated infant formula was dated and labeled with the child's name. Evidence: All four sippy cups in the toddler room's refrigerator were not labeled with the child's name and date. Plan of Correction: The staff will ensure that the cups and bottles are labeled with the child's name and date.
