VENDSUB-000 SPECIAL CARE PROVISIONS AND EMERGENCIES

Comments:
An unannounced Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection was conducted today from 9am through 11:40am. There were 16 children in care with three staff. Children present ranged in age from 2years to eight years old. Children were observed in teacher and self-directed activities including lessons, restroom routines, outside play and breakfast.

Violations:
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-012-B
Description: 1 - During review of training for the vendor the documentation provided did not include a certificate that the required Pre-service training was completed. 2 - The vendor stated that she had not completed the required training. a. Furthermore, the vendor confirmed that the one long term employee also had not completed the required training.

Plan of Correction: Center management will ensure that all staff complete the required Preservice Staff training.

Standard #: VENDSUB-000-031-A
Description: Based on documentation review, observation and interview the center failed to ensure that written emergency plans contain reunification plans. Evidence: 1 - The center does not have a written reunification as a part of the written emergency preparedness plan. 2 - Staff 1 confirmed that the written emergency plan does not include documentation of reunification plans after an emergency.

Plan of Correction: Center management will create, write, implement, train staff and inform families of enrolled children of the center's plan to ensure, that in the event of an emergency, each child is reunified with their family.
