An announced other inspection was conducted on June 29, 2017 to review staff records. The sample size consisted of six staff records. Areas of noncompliance are identified on the Violation Notice.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-70-A Description: Based on record review, in one of six staff records reviewed, the licensee did not ensure that each staff record was documented with all required information. Evidence: During the inspection conducted on June 29, 2017, the record for Staff #1 did not include documentation of any health problems which may interfere with fulfilling the job responsibilities. Plan of Correction: Going forward we will ensure that all emergency data forms will be completely filled out and then we will check between the Head Start personnel and Human Resources.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-240-C Description: Based on record review, in one of six staff records reviewed, the licensee did not ensure that staff who work directly with children shall annually attend 16 hours of staff development activities that shall be related to child safety and development and the function of the center. Evidence: During the inspection conducted on June 29, 2017, Staff #1 had six hours of annual training documented between August 2015-June 2016. Plan of Correction: We will ensure that all subs get the same amount of training as teaching staff.
