VENDSUB-000 SPECIAL CARE PROVISIONS AND EMERGENCIES

Comments:
Licensing inspector arrived at 10:15 am and departed at 4:00 pm to conduct a licensing inspection and a Subsidy Health and Safety inspection. At the time of the tour there was eighty children in care with 9 staff . Additional staff were present to assist in the classrooms. The Licensing Inspector observed bubble activity, returning from field trips, playing video games, watching a movie, and weaving baskets. The sample size consisted of 8 children records and 9 staff records. Areas of non-compliance was reviewed with the director.

Violations:
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-012-E-2
Description: Based on interview and 2 of 9 records reviewed, the vendor did not ensure staff providing care to children had First Aid within 30 days of the date of employment or 90 days from subsidy vendor approval. Evidence: During the subsidy inspection conducted on July 12, 2017, staff #7 and staff #9 did not have First aid training with in 90 days from subsidy vendor approval.

Plan of Correction: The staff has been given notification that first aide must be updated.

Standard #: VENDSUB-000-031-A
Description: Based on and interview and review of procedures, the vendor did not have reunification for evacuation, shelter in place and lock down. Evidence: During the subsidy inspection conducted on July 12, 2017, the vendor did not have procedures for reuniting children with parents or authorized person designated by the parent to pick up the child for evacuation , shelter in place and lock down.

Plan of Correction: Policy will be updated to include the information .
