Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 10:00am-11:30am. When the inspector arrived there were 130 children in care with 17 staff present. A sample of 10 children and 10 staff records were reviewed in addition to 3 medications. MAT that is specific to diabetes was also reviewed.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-A
Description: Based on a record review the center failed to ensure all requirements were met for prescription medication. Evidence Child #1 (dob 07/01/04) did not have written parental authorization to administer an emergency medication that was present at the center.

Plan of Correction: This violation was corrected on 7/10/2017 by parent completing the missing signature. Going forward two members of management will check every new incoming medication and staff Safety captain will check medications weekly to ensure compliance. DM will inspect on visits.

Standard #: 22VAC40-191-60-C-2
Description: Based on a record review the center failed to ensure all requirements were met for prescription medication. Evidence Child #1 (dob 07/01/04) did not have written parental authorization to administer an emergency medication that was present at the center.

Plan of Correction: One central registry check was received in the mail 7/11/2017 and the second is in route. These results were requested in a timely manner but not documented the follow up from cps. All background checks will be sent the day of hire as they will come in notarized and completed. All communication from the registry office will be documented on the copy of the registry to show the follow up if not back in 30 days. Management will follow up on all files weekly to ensure compliance. DM will inspect on visits.
