- Technical Assistance:
The following was discussed with the owner/director: *When staff bring their own children to the center, it is recommended a file is kept for each of them to include all children's record requirements. *Removal of the Little Tykes play structure that has been unusable for over a year *Standard 330-F Adequete shade
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 10:00am-11:30am. Upon arrival there were 7 children in care with 2 staff present. Children were observed playing ball, during circle time and in infant bouncers. Someone from the library arrived during the inspection for a book presentation with the children. A sample of 3 staff records and 5 children's records were reviewed. The center does not provide transportation.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation the center failed to ensure all areas ad equipment of the center, inside and outside, were maintained in a safe condition. Evidence: 1. The metal playground fence was rusted. 2. There was peeling paint along the wall in the preschool room where the children do circle time. Plan of Correction: The director will contact the landlord to have the rust removed from the fencing. The areas of peeling paint will be lightly sanded and repainted.
