Standard #: 22VAC40-185-330-B Description: Based on the inspector's observations on the outdoor playground with the large climber/swing equipment, the center failed to ensure a fall/trajectory zone was free from obstacles. Evidence: The inspector observed all three outdoor play areas. The playground with the combination climber/swing has a small slide approximately two feet in height with another piece of non-stationary equipment with three feet of the chute of the slide. The equipment requires a six foot uninterrupted fall/trajectory zone. Plan of Correction: The PD will ensure staff are aware to move equipment if too close to fall/trajectory zones for stationary equipment.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-F Description: Based on the inspector's observations during lunch time, the center failed to ensure children were allowed second helpings of food listed in the USDA's child and adult care meal patterns. Evidence: The inspector observed the two year old classroom and observed a child who had finished their lunch and repeatedly attempted to eat off the floor, others's plates, and random food on the table. Second helpings were not offered to the child. Plan of Correction: The PD will speak to the kitchen to provide additional helpings of menu items to be served in the event a child is still hungry after they have finished their meal.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-M Description: Based on the inspector's observations in the classroom with two year old children, the staff failed to sit with the children at any point. Evidence: The inspector observed lunch time in the two year old classroom and at no time did either of the staff members sit with the children. Plan of Correction: The PD will remind all staff to sit with the children during meal time.
