Discussed upcoming changes to the background check regulations.
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 9:15am-11:00am. There were 47 children (4yrs-6yrs) directly supervised by 8 staff. The physical plant, staff records, child records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group bible study, playing outside, making amazon rain sticks, and studying the amazon rainforest. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid, as well as DHO training. Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance. The center was clean and organized. Area of non-compliance is identified in the Violation Notice. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Megan Smith at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-90--A Description: Based on record review, the center did not ensure a signed, written agreement between the parent and the center was in each child's record by the first day of the child's attendance. Evidence: Child #1 had a copy of the written agreement in the file, however the agreement had not been signed by the parent. Plan of Correction: The director will have the parent sign this afternoon at pick-up.
