Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 10:00am-11:30am. There were 18 children (3yrs.-5yrs.) directly supervised by 4 staff and 2 volunteers. The physical plant, staff emergency contacts and certifications, child records, medication, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, playing with playdough, building with legos, and solving riddles during circle time. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid, as well as DHO training. Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Megan Smith at megan.smith@dss.virginia.gov.
