Technical Assistance:

The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced focused inspection on Thursday, August 03, 2017 from 02:30pm to 03:47pm. This inspection focused on the main areas of previous non-compliance. The children were observed getting up from rest time, preparing for snack and playing games. Today, the following child to staff ratios were observed: Infants ?8:2 Toddlers ?5:1 Twos ? 16:2 Preschool ?9:1 School Age ?20:1 The violations from the previous inspections were checked for corrections. There were no repeat violations found during today?s inspection. If you have any questions about this inspection, please contact the licensing inspector, Roshon Casey, at (804) 662-9760. PROVIDER: Please complete the ?plan of correction? and ?date to be corrected? for each violation cited on the violation notice and return it to me within 5 business days from today. You will need to specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Just writing the word ?corrected? is not acceptable. Your plan of correction must contain: 1) steps to correct the noncompliance with the standard(s), 2) measures to prevent the noncompliance from occurring again; and 3) person(s) responsible for implementing each step and/or monitoring any preventative measures. Please do not use staff names; list staff by positions only.

Description: Based on observation on 08/03/2017, the center did not ensure that for children, from age of eligibility to attend public school through eight years, one staff member for every 18 children. EVIDENCE: 20 school age children with one staff member was observed in the school age class.

Plan of Correction: To correct this violation, going forward, management will ensure that staff-to-child ratios are being followed for children from age of eligibility to attend public school through eight years of age, one staff member for every 18 children. Management will review schedules, child attendance patterns, and face-to-name to ensure that proper ratios are being adhered to at all times.
