An unannounced mandated inspection was conducted on August 21st 2017 between 9:00am and 12:00pm. There were 114 children in the direct care of 29 staff members. Children were observed playing outside, building, learning math skills, having circle time, using the rest room, washing hands, eating lunch, and having water play. Staff were observed to be consistently engaged with the children. The rooms were clean, organized, and offer plenty of space for the children to utilize. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-430-L Description: Based on direct observation, infant walkers were in the child care space. Evidence: In the infant space, an infant walker was in the room. Plan of Correction: We will remove all infant walkers from the rooms.
Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-D-1-B Description: Based on record review, 1 of 10 staff records did not contain completed background check information before 30 days of employment at the facility ends. Evidence: Staff #2 was hired 6/26/2017 and does not have documentation of a completed central registry check on file. Plan of Correction: We will follow up with Office of Background Investigations to check on the status.
