- Technical Assistance:
Discussed the recent communication regarding fingerprint based background checks for child day programs. Anyone who has lived in another state in the past five years is required to request a check of the child abuse and neglect registry for each state they have lived in the past five years. New applicants and agents for licensure, approval, and registration must request an out of state check when they initially apply for a license, approval, or registration.
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced renewal inspection Friday, September 01, 2017 from 10:31am to 2:30pm. The children were observed playing outside, singing songs, and playing parachute games . The infants were observed playing on the floor with their teachers. Lunch today consisted of pizza, corn strawberry parfait and milk. The menu was posted. All classrooms were inspected today. Due to rainy weather the facility's playground and mini buses were not inspected. Five children?s records and six employee records were reviewed during this inspection. The center administers medication, however there is none being given at this moment. The center's first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected. Last emergency drill: 08/22/2017 Shelter-in-place drills: 05/05/2017 Last fire inspection: 08/01/2017 Last health inspection: 02/28/2017 Total enrollment today: 55 Today, the following child to staff ratios were observed: Infants ?5:2 Toddlers ?4:1 Twos ? 10:2 Preschool (Threes- Fours) ?16:2 School Age -20:2 The violations from the previous inspections were checked for corrections. There were no repeat violations found during today?s inspection. If you have any questions about this inspection, please contact your licensing inspector, Roshon Casey, at (804) 662-9760. PROVIDER: Please complete the ?plan of correction? and ?date to be corrected? for each violation cited on the violation notice and return it to me within 5 business days from today (September 8 , 2017).
