An unannounced Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection was conducted today from 10:10am-12:30pm. There were 69 (infants-5yrs.) directly supervised by 12 staff. The physical plant, 1 staff record, 3 children?s records, there were no medications on site, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, musical activities, playing outside, and eating snack. There was an abundant supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. Standard #: VENDSUB-000-012-C Description: Based on review, the facility failed to ensure that staff employed prior to the effective date of the agreement shall complete the Virginian Pre-service Training for Child Care Staff within 90 days of the agreement. Evidence: Reviewed 5 staff records and found that none of the 5 staff had documentation of the 10 hour pre-service agreement. Plan of Correction: As soon as I can contact subsidy at the OFC office, they (the trainings) will be completed.
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-012-F Description: Based on review, the facility failed to ensure that all staff members are trained in CPR and First Aid within 90 days of the agreement. Evidence: Reviewed staff records and found that 1 (Staff 1) was missing documentation of CPR and First Aid. Plan of Correction: Will have all staff trained in CPR and First Aid by the first week of November.
