Lincensing inspector spoke with the director about the following: Expiring medication
An unannounced inspection was conducted from 2pm-4:45pm. 54 children were present and all groups were maintained in the correct ratios. Children were observed eating snack, napping, during group play and playing on the playground. For any questions please call 703-479-4679.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on the review of children's records, records were not maintained and were missing required information. Evidence: Child B was missing 1st day of attendance, medication plan; and the addresses of both emergency contacts; insurance name and policy number. Child C was missing medication plan. Plan of Correction: Going to take care of it right away.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation, there were areas that weren't maintained in an operable and safe condition. Evidence: There was a broken swing on the playground. Plan of Correction: Will call to get it fixed tomorrow, called previously with no response.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation, hazardous substances such as cleaning materials were not kept in a locked area. Evidence: During inspection cleaning materials located in the 4's room were found in an unlocked brown cabinet above the counter close to the window. Plan of Correction: We'll put a lock on the cabinet
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-430-A Description: Based on observation, furnishings, equipment, and materials were not found to be of an appropriate size for the child using it. Evidence: At the time of inspection two children in the infants room, ages 14 months and 15 months, were found sleeping in infant bouncing seats. The manufacturer recommends usage of the seats discontinues after infants are able to sit up. Plan of Correction: We'll use bigger bouncing seats
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-E Description: Based on observation, medication was not labeled with the child's name, dosage amount and the time or times to be given. Evidence: The medication of Child A in the 2's room was not labeled with the name of the child, dosage amount and time or times to be administered. Plan of Correction: Will give medication to parent with instructions to return with the complete paperwork.
