Discussion of the subsidy regulations and how they apply to the Child Day Center (CDC).
A Subsidy Health and Safety (SHSI) inspection was conducted at the YMCA after-school program held on site at Cool Spring Elementary school located in the town of Leesburg, Virginia. This inspection was conducted on 09/20/2017, between the hours of 3:30 pm through 6 pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. An Unannounced Renewal/Monitoring licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice. If you should have any future questions, please call. Standard #: VENDSUB-000-031-B-2 Description: Based on review, currently there are no procedures to address reuniting children with parents or an authorized person designated by the parent to pick up the child during a shelter-in-place event. Evidence - 1. On the date of inspection (09/20/2017), after review of the EPP, while a brief section addresses pick-up and contacting of parents with regards to an evacuation (fire), there was no reunification procedure for shelter-in-place. 2. The EPP was posted on the site bulletin board. Plan of Correction: A reunification procedure shall be included in the site EPP
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-031-B-3 Description: Based on review, Lockdown procedures were not included within the center's the Emergency Preparedness Plan (EPP). Evidence - 1. On the date of inspection (09/20/2017), while procedures for many different scenarios were covered within the center's EPP, it did not include procedures for Lockdown. 2. The current EPP was posted on the center bulletin board. Plan of Correction: Lockdown procedures shall be included and practiced on an annual basis.
