Comments:
An unannounced Renewal Inspection was conducted on September 28, 2017 from approximately 6:40 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. Upon entrance there were 25 children in care and 3 staff present with children. The record review sample consisted of 5 children's records and the on site required documentation for 7 staff records. Children were observed playing in centers to include board games, homeliving, cars and dolls. Children were also observed eating breakfast and playing large group games. The results of the inspection were reviewed with the center director. Areas of non-compliance are noted on the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-A
Description: Based on observation, the licensee did not ensure children's hands were washed with soap and running water or disposable wipes before and after eating meals or snacks. Evidence: During the inspection on September 28,2017, a total of three children were observed eating their morning snack and all three children did not wash their hands after eating. The children were observed immediately after eating, going to play with the centers toys and games.

Plan of Correction: The center supervisor will ensure children wash their hands both before and after they eat.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-K
Description: Based on observation the licensee did not ensure tables were sanitized before and after each use for feeding. The definition of "Sanitized" means treated in such a way to remove bacteria and viruses from inanimate surfaces through using a disinfectant solution (i.e., bleach solution or commercial chemical disinfectant) or physical agent (e.g., heat). The surface of item is sprayed or dipped into the disinfectant solution and allowed to air dry after use of the disinfectant solution. Evidence: During the inspection on September 28,2017, children were observed eating their morning snack and the table was not sanitized before or after the children were eating. The table was used for games, activities and center paperwork.

Plan of Correction: The site supervisor will ensure that tables are sanitized with spray both before and after feeding.
