Technical Assistance:
The following was discussed with the program director: *22VAC40-185-(7)-550-B Emergency Preparedness Plans *22VAC40-185-(6)-440-E 12 inches between occupied cots *22VAC40-185-(6)-440-J-2 30 inches between service sides of occupied cribs

Comments:
Licensing Inspector arrived at 11:00am and departed at 1:00pm to conduct a monitoring Inspection. At the time of the tour there were 68 children in care with 16 staff present. A sample of 6 children and 6 staff records were reviewed in addition to 2 medications. Children were observed during nap. Infants were observed playing on the floor with staff and being fed. School-agers were observed doing an activity with staff.

Description: Based on observation and a record review the center failed to ensure all requirements were met when insect repellent is used. Evidence: In the toddler room there was a bottle of insect repellent in the diaper storage cabinet and was not labeled.

Plan of Correction: The director labeled the insect spray during the inspection.
