22VAC40-191 Background Checks (22VAC40-191)
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 1:00pm-2:30pm. Upon arrival there were 39 children in care with 7 staff present. Children were observed during nap. A sample of 3 staff and 3 children's records. The center did not have any medications at the time of inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-70-A Description: Based on a record review and interview with the director, the center failed to ensure all required information was kept for each staff person. Evidence: 1. Staff #1 (doh 08/21/17) and Staff #2's (doh 08/29/17) job titles were documented as a program leader and was observed working in that role during the inspection. Staff #1 not #2 had written information that demonstrated the individual possessed the education and/or training required by the job position. Plan of Correction: Both staff were program leaders at another center, however was not able to obtain the written information that demonstrates their qualifications. Staff #1 will request college transcripts and staff #2 will gather all training hours required to qualify for the position.
