- Technical Assistance:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was made on October 25, 2017 which started at 11:30 a. m. and concluded at 2:15 p. m. The inspector met with staff and Child Day Center standards were reviewed. The following staff-to-child ratios were observed: Two/Three Years: There were nine children with two staff. The children were having lunch, later were observed taking a nap. Three/Four Years: There were 11 children with two staff. The children were having lunch and later were observed taking a nap. Four/Five Years: There were 13 children with two staff. The children were having lunch. Five children records were reviewed. Five staff records reviewed. Medication procedures were reviewed on two children. Conversations were held with all staff, children were napping. All classroom observations were conducted.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-240-A Description: Based on review of staff orientation the center did not have all of the information available. Evidence: On 10/25/17, there were five staff that did not have the back page of the staff orientation checklist which included the date of hire and when the staff received the staff orientation. Plan of Correction: Will have the staff complete the back page of the staff orientation checklist.
