An unannounced monitoring inspection was done today October 26, 2017 beginning at 9:50 AM and ending at 1:30 PM. Six children and five staff records were reviewed during the inspection. Six medications were reviewed. Lunch and nap were observed and a physical plant inspection was completed. Discussion with director and staff about: recalled items in the infant room, using the CPSC web site for updates for recalled items and labeling personal items with owners names.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-330-B Description: Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that resilient surfacing for all climbing equipment and swings. Evidence: 1. Observed under and around the swing bays, the resilient surfacing did not measure the required 6 inches. 2. Observed around the climbing piece of equipment the resilient surfacing did not measure the required 6 inches. Plan of Correction: The program director will be placed off limits until additional mulch can be ordered and placed on the playgrounds. Teachers and program director will monitor all areas.
