63.2 Child Abuse and Neglect
Today an unannounced Monitoring Inspection took place between the hours of 1:30pm and 4:00pm. At the start of the inspection there were a total of 74 children with 10 staff. A total of 5 children?s files and 5 staff files were reviewed. The children were observed napping, waking from nap, playing outside and other organized activities. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-70-A Description: Based on record review, staff records did not contain all required information. Evidence: There was no documentation of education for Staff #4 as required for their position. Plan of Correction: I've already requested it from her.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-450-A Description: Based on observation, children did not have a top cover and bottom cover during the rest period. Evidence: Child #1 in the Dolphin room did not have a top or bottom cover during nap. Child #6 did not have a bottom cover during nap. Plan of Correction: They will have them tomorrow.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-C Description: Based on observation, medication was kept on site after the written authorization to administer had expired. Evidence: Child #8 had a long-term medication on site. The authorization to administer the medication had expired on 10/12/2017. Plan of Correction: We'll send the form home with her tonight to get signed.
